Esprit Digital has provided 10 custom-built, double-sided kiosks for out-of-home advertising at the Domain Northside shopping mall in Austin, Texas, where the weather can be challenging.

Custom shopping centre kiosks defy ‘wet taco’ climate

Building outdoor screen solutions for sites in Austin, Texas can be like wrapping an LCD display in a ‘wet taco’. This is a claim that has been made about deploying a digital signage network in the city where weather conditions can vary from one extreme to another.

However, this did not deter London- based custom-kiosk manufacturer Esprit Digital which worked closely with out-of-home media company Big Outdoor to install 10  double-sided kiosks in the Domain Northside shopping mall in Austin, Texas.

Big Outdoor’s requirements were simple: design and install full outdoor kiosks that would complement the high-end Domain Northside property and be able to work 24/7/365 for at least five years in an ever-changing climate.

The solution was designed from scratch, including the highest-quality metalwork and paint finish, which was specifically selected and signed off by Domain Northside. Newly designed LED side strips were added to add a touch of  class to the overall appearance. To ensure complete reliability, each unit was also fitted with Esprit Digital’s proprietary cooling and air filtration systems.

Travis Hodges, COO of Big Outdoor, commented: .“With the launch of The Austin Digital Network, we are proud to bring large-format mixed with street-level DOOH to the fastest growing market in the country. There is no doubt that brands want to be seen on the highest quality street furniture and having worked with Esprit Digital before, they were the obvious partner for Domain Northside. In our opinion, these kiosks are the best-looking ones in the whole country and the first reactions from our clients and the public have been universally positive.”
